Vinyl and Drywall

Here is a pic where they have finished a good bit of the vinyl on the front of the house, its amazing how long it takes them to do this stuff. I mean we only have those two little peaks in the front and then the trim around the roof and it has taken them DAYS! haha. Oh well....

On another note, the drywall is up! They have been working on it since Wednesday of last week....mudding, sanding, mudding, sanding....they are dropping all the trim work off next week and putting down the hardwoods (not staining them yet, just laying the wood). Then they start to paint! We picked out our colors yesterday....the house is going to be Pony Tail and the dining room will be Willow Tree. Here is a little pic of each one....

This one is pony tail and all of the house except the dining room will be this color....it seems a little dark, but when I see pictures of it actually on the wall its really pretty.

This is willow tree. I think it will be really pretty in the dining room....we really only have two major walls, because its so open, and one of those has three big windows in it. Plus, we are going to do that waynes coating (not sure on the spelling) so the bottom half will be white and only the top half will be this color. :) This looks pretty brown here, but its actually green.

Here is a pic of a room that has both of these colors in it....

Can't wait to see it! Picking paint colors makes me soooo nervous because you hope they turn out like they are supposed to, but you never know!! AHH!

Brick and Stone are coming along!

So after my LONG trip to Phoenix ( I know 5 days isn't that long, but for a homebody like me it felt like an eternity!) I came home to see the house. It was nice because I got in at about 1:00 on Wednesday afternoon and didn't have to go into the office and got to spend the rest of my day with my hubby just bopping around town and most importantly looking at the house!!
When we showed up the stone was well under way and almost finished, but we think they ran out. They were also delivering the drywall too, and all the insulation on the inside of the house was in. We are hoping that they are starting the drywall today, but guessing it won't be until next week.

Here are some pics of the stone in progress!
I know the lighting is terrible, but here is a pic of the brick all done, and the stone and trim as a work in progress.

And here is a close up of the stone......they are missing a little section, but hopefully they will finish it up soon. :)

More pics to come when I get my good camera out there this weekend!

Bricking

Here are some pics of the brick. The first pic is of the back of the house, it is almost all bricked!! YAY! The second is of the brick detail that will be around the windows on the front of the house. The third is the front of the house and the fourth is the front door! YAY!! We are hoping they get the stone done this week so we can upload those pics next weekend. I hope everyone had a great Easter!!

Windows and Doors

Here is another cell phone pic of the house. It's just so much easier to put those on here than to take the time to upload the pics from my camera! Anyway, as you can see all the windows and doors are in (except for the front door)!! I think they leave the front door off for a reason, but I'm not sure what that is. Maybe until they get all the drywall in or something?? The shingles have also almost been all put on. We are just lacking the sections on the overhangs and a little section on the top right hand corner. They are going to haul the brick in this week, so it will be very exciting to see if any gets put up this week!! We can't believe how fast it is moving!

On a side note, we bought all of our furniture this weekend! We are SUPER excited. We were told about this place called Thomas Home Furnishings out of North Carolina by a very reliable friend who had purchased from them before. Their prices are AMAZING. They were 35-40% off the retail prices that you see here in TN and they carry alot of manufacturers (we went with Broyhill, La-z-boy, and Universal). It was unbelievable the amount of money we saved, so if you are in the market for furniture, check them out!!
